Welcome from Canada. A model 73 is a good start. Don't worry you will get more.

Thanks for the welcome! The addiction is not just one gun! Its aways more!
I have many rifles and pistols however getting back to reloading, specially the 73 has really opened a new door. I really enjoy it.
My wife bought me a henry golden boy 22 last year for our anniversary and this year she surprised me with a Henry Big boy 357 and had it engraved! WOW what an awesome gift.
3 years back I bought her a pink handled Rough Rider 22 combo and I think that set the gun giving to a new level! LOL
Anyway I will get some pictures of our stuff and share it. I am glad to be part of this list.
I look forward to reading, always learning and sharing!

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

hey 3leg,
The caliber is 32-20- made in 1886, I have shot this gun about 2000 times, with 12.5 grains of IMR 41-98 with soft led, 90 grs SWC, that load shoots about 3 inches at 50 yards and the barrel is a real sewer pipe.
Also 11 gr. of 41/98 with a 115 gr soft lead bullet. also 14 gr of RL.7 with a 90 grain SWC
I have had the gun apart and can not see its doing any damage.
I trust the slower power better than fast pistol power. I dont forsee problems with these loads or powder.
Believe me I started way below that and I am stopping there.
It works good,
