Thanks for the prayers - Changing jobs

Post by rjohns94 »

Its been a long 6 weeks but the decision has been made and I will be stepping down from my teaching position at Johns Hopkins University and moving into the Global Missions Director position for LWCC. My travel calender is filling up for the new year pretty quick. Ethiopia in Jan, Cuba in April, Missions conference in March, Chili perhaps in Feb. Currently working on getting the team for cuba arranged and set, and developing the three week missions conference. I will also be presenting a budget for the new year, developing the strategic vission and partners for the future, and actually working along side those in various lands to marry the resources to accomplish their vission. I am so very excited. It will mean a drastic change of life style. My gun buying is frozen at the 18 I have or have been paid for. I will be working to thin the crowd down to a smaller lot, focussing on must keeps, hunting needs, and ccw rather than nice to haves. At this point, I'm hoping this job takes me to my last breath. I can't imagine me doing anything else. In addition to this, I will also maintain my partnership in Leadership Connextions international, an organization whose mission is to resource under-resourced leaders throughout the world. You can see that the two of them go hand in hand. I also have trips later in the year to be scheduled for Cuba (2nd visit), Chile, S.Africa, Uganda, Canada, and perhaps Hungary and Romania. Going to busy!!

thank you for all your prayers and encouragement.

THAT is the epitome of having a "calling", and when one has a calling, there is no longer a separate 'life', 'job', and 'religion' - they fuse into one coherent purpose. You will be happy and fulfilled, even when times get tough.

Awesome, and congratulations! 8)
