Rumor is Henry will bring out a 30-30 in 2008

Post by 336A »

I read this over a Rim fire Central, not many details at all. Just that it has been heard through the grape vine. Anyway it will be interesting to see what it will look like, and I'm sure it will be a great product.

Gentlemen,

The rumor was posted by someone who remained silent on his reason for saying what he did. He said that Henry will produce a BLUED, STEEL rifle in .30-30. He did not specify the type of action, nor did he say if the rifle would be a repeater. Henry already offers stainless steel single-shot rifles, though they are in small calibers.

My speculation is that a "Winchester 94" fits the criteria of the afore-mentioned rumor. That would be a coup, if that is, in fact, what Henry is doing.

Shawn, That would indeed be a coup. And if that's what they do, I wanna see one.

Yea a blued steel one would be nice to see. I'd like an AE version personally. For flexibility for old eyes.

Why nothing they offer interests me. That and I just thinks it's just wrong to call themselves "Henry" and not even offer their namesake. I might, and probably am, forgoing the opportunity to own a fine rifle, US made and all that. NOT!

No, just that I ain't bought one, and am not likely to! They are free to name their company anything they want, and I'm free not to spend my hard-earned dinero with 'em.

Yep, they trade on a legacy and history to which they have no connection. To read their ads, a fella could get the impression they are descended from the original Henry repeating rifle.

If they want to trade on that history, the least they could do is give us a good American made copy of the REAL Henry rifle. Uberti does!

So....IF they make a 30-30, I hope they do it right and not give us a long action version of the Henry Big Boy. A nice copy of the old Winnie 1894 from an American company would be welcome!

If they make a decent "steel" levergun in 30/30 I hope they follow it up with a decent 32/20 too!!
