Created another levergun addict ....
Ricky and I got my friend Jack into a Win 94 in 30WCF. He has always been a western history buff and traditionalist so the Winchester levergun was fitting to his interests. Even though he always liked the prospect of a levergun, he was uncomfortable because he knew nothing about them, and therefore spent the past 20 years with but one centerfire bolt action rifle. He's hooked! We sighted in and tried a bunch of ammo - thanks to Paladin and arjunky - and found the Managed Recoil Remington ammo was the favorite out of this rifle. We're off to a hunt to see how it does in the field. One more competitor at the used gun rack for us levergunners

That's a heck of a shooting position. Looks scary to me. God Bless.

The 'reclining' position was pretty common back when rifles were "short" with 30" barrels. Look at old drawings of Bisley matches, etc with Martini's and Rolling Blocks. The British 95th Rifles, in the Spanish campaign (1809?) a rifleman in a battle they lost was retreating, saw the French general, basically threw himself down on the hillside legs crossed at ankles, seated the rifle on his legs and shot the enemy commander off his horse at 300 yards (moving at a walk).
