Perfect Quick Breakfast

Post by JohndeFresno »

OK - Beat THIS for a quick and fully nutritious breakfast (emphasize quick):
1) Coffee brewed and on timer the night before
2) Jalapenos popped into a small Cuisinart thing (seeds and all!)
3) Dump them into a little dish for the morning
4) Bread in toaster
5) Morning - Sip coffee while tapping the toaster and unscrewing peanut butter jar
6) In about three minutes, slop peanut butter on toast and dump the Jalapenos
Wakeup and energy food in minutes - Vitamins, Carbs, noo-trients without messing with eating implements - Nature's most nearly perfect breakfast! Why didn't I have this in MRE's?

That looks like heartburn on a bun to me :o But, i heard a fellow on the radio touting a hamburger with peanut butter on it in lieu of cheese and stating it was delicious too !

Your a braver man than i am ---although i am no stranger to lighter fare --- my breakfast was a rather pedestrian egg white omelet with some shaved turkey breast, a light dusting of sharp cheddar and some leftover shish-k-bob veggies from a couple nights ago

With a good piece of flaky Nova salmon (i.e., paper-thin flakes) , a couple of tablespoons olive oil, a pair of eggs, a touch of grated mozerella, a couple of tablespoons of salza picante (mas picante para migo, por favor) I can make a great omelet in about 3 minutes.

Just don't use peanut-flavored-Crisco-with-sugar instead of actual peanut butter.

I say that because most 'popular' brands of peanut butter are hydrogenated oil with peanuts, and enough sugar(s) added to disguise the taste. Hydrogenated oil = trans fat = bad...!

Stick with real peanut butter.

You want hot and quick? Break a couple eggs into a large styrofoam cup - whip em up and put in what you like - bacon bits, jalapenos, etc. and then pop in the microwave until the eggs grow out of the top of the cup. Bam - micro scrambled eggs.

Peanunt butter and jalapenos.... hmm never thought of that. Especially for breakfast.

Microwaving styrofoam melts it, or at least I thought so after trying to warm up a hamburger in the foam box one time.... :?

Dont know if I could handle that many of them peppers though ?
Maybe if I try substituting some fresh ground horseradish with the peanut butter instead ?

Nope. Been eating peppers since I was in Grammar school, and always have great blood pressure and cholesterol count. When you are used to them, they don't affect you - just have a mild laxative effect if you have more than you should. Except it is now proven that they raise your metabolism a bit, which is also good. A day without jalapenos is like a month without sunshine!

I enjoy eating fresh jalapenos pretty regularly, although they started giving me indigestion and I have had to cut back. I never thought of trying one with peanut butter. I can't decide if that looks appealing or not. It's definitely something different!

If you like peppers, it gives you a sweet flavor with a bite. Just like adding Jalapeno jelly.
Today, I ran out of peppers, so I had peanut butter and a slice of tomato on toast - also adds sweetness but pretty nutritious. One can't have eggs all the time or the cholesterol count rises, I am told; and I grew tired of cereal or oatmeal years ago.

Bowl of oatmeal, or grits.....The grits need gravy, tho black pepper and butter will do in a pinch.
