Sears 30-30 Lever

Post by crystal river charli »

Good morning,
Have a chance to pick up a Sears 30-30 Lever action.
It looks like a Winchester 94 pre safety.
It easily has 90% + bluing with a few minor dings
on the wood.
Asking price is $250.00.
Was wondering if anyone here can tell me alittle about
this gun.

Thanks,
Charlie
I'm getting old. In my old age I find I long for the guns of my youth.
Revolvers and 1911's were the handguns of my youth.
I know them and I trust them.

You essentially know just about all there is to know - Winchester made specially-marked Model 94 Carbines, 1964-1989, for Sears that were finished differently than the standard carbines.

The Sears rifles (Sears/J.C.Higgins/Ted Williams) are the same guns, mechanically as the standard Winchesters, with different stock fittings, and metal finish (in some cases).

You won't get hurt, dollar-wise, either @ $250.......

I believe those private label Winchester 94's were the fore runner of the Ranger series. So nothing bad about 'em.

It's a post 64 Win 94 with a slightly different forearm and barrel band design. $250.00 isn't a bad price at all.

Got two of the Ted Williams Model 100's. Great guns, I'd buy another at $250 in a minute.
