The Guns of Will Sonnett updated

Post by Rusty »

My wife went to her birthday party last night with her sisters. one of them handed her a box and said here, I bought this for us but we didn't like it so we thought you might.

It is the first year box set of "The Guns of Will Sonnett."

I've looked for this off and on for a while and never did find it. It is made by Timeless video at http://www.timelessvideo.com I can't wait to see what else they have.

Some of Walter Brennan's best work. That sounds like a fine present.

For those that are interested I found out last night this present was "re-gifted" from one sister to another. The initial purchase was made at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant and Country store so I guess they pretty much carry the same inventory in all their stores. If you have one near you and you're interested give them a try. I'm going to to go looking for season 2 myself.

I haven't looked it up yet but on the credits one of the people they list is Andrew Brennan. I know that was Walter's middle name so I wonder if his son worked on this project with him?

quoting wikopedia:

Both seasons of the show, totaling fifty episodes, have been made available on DVD. However, they are the edited episodes distributed by King World. They are transferred from video tape sources and have not been remastered from the original film prints. The color is often faded, and the sound is rather poor. The edits in the episodes were poorly performed and sometimes confuse the plotline. The DVD package calls The Guns of Will Sonnett one of the most underrated westerns in the history of television

Was that not the series with the famous quote "No brag, Just Fact..." ?? I can still remember watching it and hearing Will (WB) saying it. Or, am I crazy...??

I've watched several of the, so far and I haven't really paid much attention to the drawbacks. I thought it was so nice to see a good clean TV show that still had moral lessons in it I guess the quality of the picture didn't bother me.
