Stone Fence Bullets

Post by Highplains »

Is Mr. Deering out of the bullet business? I have had some of his bullets (250 grain, .378" diameter) for a .38-55 that have just been sitting for several years. Since I just got another Marlin, I thought I might load these up and fire them. I tried calling him for some optimum load information. I left messages and emailed him as well but never got an answer.

Could members give me an idea of what has worked well with this bullet in their .38-55s?

I have not heard from him in a while. I suppose that I assumed he was just busy. I just dropped him a line myself.

PS - A message to his old e-mail address came back undeliverable.
Sincerely,

Hobie

I bought a box of 250gr .375s to try in my re-bore 38/55 and now my Marlin M-375 very early in this year. I have yet to shoot any but have got some loaded to try in both. I contacted him through the link on "Marlinowners.com". I think he said at the time that he really did not have enough hours in the day for regular production but would make "runs" of particular bullets when he had enough requests for a particular bullet and the time. It took him a little time to get around to my order but if looks count for anything I am happy so far. It did take him several days to respond anytime I e-mailed him but he always got back to me. Others on marlinowners have been pleased with the results on game.

http://custombullets.com/ His website is still up. I haven't heard from him in a while either and his email as well as all others died with my previous hard drive.
