Day at the range with 3leggedturtle. (pics)

Post by FF1063 »

3leggedturtle asked me to post a couple pics for him. We went to Holmen Rod & Gun club (http://holmenrodandgunclub.com/joomla/) in western WI today. He shot his sweet little 9mm carbine and his .22 Mag Henry levergun. I shot my Baer .38 Super, S&W model 10-5 .38 spl. and my Freedom Arms model 97 .357.
He had taken his weekly shower yesterday, so he was presentable enough show in pictures.
3legged turtle with the 9mm carbine (he has a nice .45acp barrel too)

Gratuitous pic of my model 10-5 since they may be going the way of the Dodo.

I did my best shooting ever with the 10-5 today at 25 yards. Really starting to like that gun.

That IS a neat 9mm. How do you like that scout scope set-up? And a .45 ACP barrel. Be still my heart. I've got 19 carbine barrels and I don't have either one of those...

The scout scope is great. Its a Simmons 2.5 shotgun scope. Wish'd i bought about 3 more when CDNN had them. As far as a weekly shower; we are told by the media to be more GREEN and Conservative of our natural resources i.e. water.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Thank You.
1973 vintage. It's quickly becoming my favorite handgun, and I'm outshooting my .38 Super with it and drawing even with the Freedom Arms .357.
Luckily it's right on as far as windage goes, so I just aim a little high with my light 130 grain/750 fps handloads or dead on with factory spec 158 ammo. The trigger is as good as it gets.
I just need a set of oversize wood grips now.
