Took some pics of my new 1849 Uberti Pocket model today and wanted to share.
I've always loved the look of open top revolvers, but the large framed models felt a little too big for my hands. This one just feels perfect!
Eventually, I'll add a Kirst Conversion cylinder (.32) and a loading gate channel.
Unfortunately, I'm told the kits are currently on back-order. Just my luck.
Always thought that it would be cool to convert one to 22. Might not have to hog off as much metal to get a cartridge to load. Been eyeing my pocket Navy with that in mind.
Years ago I had an original that someone had managed to lose the cylinder to. I wanted to make it a 32 S&W long, or a 22 LR. I ended up trading it off to a gunsmith that wanted to do the same thing. A repro in 32 S&W long or 22 LR would be a fun camp gun and plinker.

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?
Looks like Uberti have done you proud. Is it a 5 or 6 shot?
Mine is a bit more battered but then it is 150 years old and still works perfectly.
In the UK it's unlawful to shoot antiques if they are not entered on your licence but if I were to shoot
it I think a 0.320 round ball over 15 grains of 3F and a #11 cap would work very well

Back in the 1970's there were repros of this model available. I bought one from EMF as I recall, and it came through with not the 4 inch, but a 6 inch barrel. I even had the little flask and mold, although I never molded any bullets with it. I used to shoot it with 000 buckshot, which fit perfectly. I ended up giving it to a friend of mine who had helped me out. These little guns are worth having, although I wonder how that little lever works, being so short. Back when I had mine, real black powder was not hard to come by, and those little eagle flasks held a lot of shots.
I used to have a Uberti 1849 and it was real fun to shoot, but if I did not load enough black powder those little balls would bounce back with spite.
I found Triple Seven worked well, seemed to give it a bit more poke.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
