Loking for 336 fore-end cap, screws, dovetail, and wood?

Post by JohnM »

Have gotten my butt-stock for the .25-35 336 [from Numrich]. And,thanks to board members, I'll have the info/pattern to whittle the lever into an 'old style'.

Now, to complete the makeover of this battered ol' gal, I'd like to do a button magazine fore-end , with the requisite hardware.

In the past, when I've made 'lightweight' 336's [inspired by the old Wiley Clapp[?] 'Tomcat'] with slenderized wood, button magazine, etc I started with models that had the needed hardware already. If Numrich has the right stuff, I either missed it or don't know it by the catalog description.

Not a world burning quest, here, but something being done as time allows.

Thanks for any ideas.

Either call Marlin directly, or get parts from Brownells. Brownells website is so-so (or it was in the past), get a catalog in the mail and call them when you need to order.

Numrich is a last resort for me.

Edit: I just looked at the Brownells web site. Here's their Marlin schematics index page. I'd still get a copy of the catalog, it is very well organized and easy to use, more so than the web site. The web site doesnt give as much information about what the particular parts fit, or variations.

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?
