OT, any Enfield experts here?
I have a #4 MK ll in about 95% or better, looks about unissued, I'm not going to use it for anything and wonder what I should try to get if I sell it without being overly greedy? Thanks.
Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
Send it to me to evaluate for a year. I should be able to give you an idea after that.
Seriously I have been seeing them go for $150 on average these days.

One most often sees those go for $150-$350, there is some interest in some oddities, the specifics of which elude me for the moment, and of course condition. I would think in the $300 range. Amazing, isn't it?

Go to gunbroker and find the enfields that are similar to yours - and see what they are selling for. Not listed, but selling or have bids on. That's a pretty good way of valuing your guns.

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
You may want to ask on an Enfield forum like Enfield - rifles .com, some of the mk 11 s are sought for being part of an Irish Contract. Also these were some of the last peace time production depending on the year and sought for that reason as well. Some still rapped in the original paper bring even more.Any markings and pictures would help who ever you ask.I'd encourage you to give that rifle a try if you haven't already-they are good rifles.Ammo isn't as cheap as in the past but reloading is easy.Good luck with what ever you decide.

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
Do you know who manufactured the No 4 Mark 2? There's a lot of variables to the value. Matching parts, rearsonaled, etc. For a safe bet I'd say a nice common one should be in the $200.00 to $300 range.

I've got a number 4 mkII Fazakerly. I won't be selling it
I will say that these are fetching more than the average.
If none on gunbroker, then check guns america, etc... other auctions.

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
The No4 MkII was post-WWII and the final iteration in the .303-chambered No4 Rifle series, not counting the sniper versions. To set the record straight, the only manufacturer of the No4 MkII Enfield Rifle was RSAF Fazakerley. There are a number of No4 MkI and Mk1* Rifles that were converted to MkII configuration after WWII, but only Faz made the MkII from scratch.

JNYORK: If your rifle appears similar to the one above, with a blonde stock and black "stoving" paint on the metal bits, the going rate is in excess of $400-$450. I"ve seen some priced at $600-$700, but the do not sell fast at all at that price point. Somewhere between $400 and $500 should see it move pretty quick in a normal economy, but in this economy who knows?

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
.303 shooters are a stange bunch I had a guy go crazy over my Long Branch Made in Canada .303 He kept talking about the peep sight? I could care less it was my first big rifle and it's not for sale! I would say you could get $400.00for it no problem. Sad thing for the non reloader nobody makes any good ammo for the .303 C.I.L is not around anymore I put their 180gr CPE copper point expanding over my chrony and it did really do the 2550fps they claimed, it was 2570fps out of a 22' barrel not too bad!I have tested many older 06 factory ammo and non would do better than 2600fps out of a 22'' barrel. The newer stuff like Hornady and federal do hit the 2700fps mark or better, gota remember I have had my Chrony for 18 years one of the first of the cheap, or should I say I can afford Chrony's.
I love the .303s I would like a P14 sad thing I would probably butcher it and make a fire breathing dragon from it. Ah us canucks have already done that in the .311 mag, too bad it died. a .404 case with .311 bullet hay kinda like a Rem .300 ultra mag but .311 not .308.

Thanks, Noah, if someone wanted it anywhere in that price range he could darn sure have it.
Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
I have a '55 Faz, it looked unfired when I paid $250 for it almost ten years ago.
In my opinion the 4/IIs were the pinnacle of the Enfield military bolts & mine will be with me till I get too old to lift it. Maybe longer- I quite possibly may pay one of the grandkids to lift it for me just so I can admire it occasionally.
It shoots about two inches at 100 yards, and uses one of the most sophisticated battle rifle sights ever fielded on a general-issue type service rifle.
$150-$300 for one in excellent condition and unaltered would be snapped up immediately & chortled over all the way home where I live.
$400-$500 would be a good starting point.

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
I ordered several of the mummy wrapped No4 Mk II's back when you could get them for way less than $200.00. I wish I'd have kept at least one, but I sold off all my post war center fire Enfields. I only kept WWII and earlier guns other than the NO 2 22LR trainers. For those I made an exception.

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?

mine
out of the wrap and unfired (RAF contract rifle)

last month I sold a lithgow 1918 for 400.00 ftr'ed 44
sold the bayo for 175.00
last week I sold my 1917 P-14 rem for 750.00 (weedon with scottish stock)
both went to collectors.

the only enfield I have seen for 150.00 around here was holding open someones back door

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
I'm partial to the No4 MkII. It's my favorite Enfield variant:

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
I concur with Noah's numbers. The "unissued" No 4 Mk IIs will bring some bucks. I had several in the wrap that I sold over the last few years for various reasons. I got over $700 apiece for them in the wrap. Removed from the wrap drops the price $200-300.

Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
I have one just like pic, unfired. They go for $700 consistently up here in unfired, if still in wrapping paper they go for even more. Fired for $600 no problem. Sell too cheap and you'll be sorry down the road, you'll never find another for that low. I assume yours is in Exc condition.Noah Zark wrote:The No4 MkII was post-WWII and the final iteration in the .303-chambered No4 Rifle series, not counting the sniper versions. Re: OT, any Enfield experts here?
I don't doubt you guys. I haven't seen one of those in the wrap for a loooong time now. I know my MK1 and MK1* are doing duty as understudies for the Garand and I wouldn't likely sell either of them no matter the offer.
