1st Levergun
After several months of debating and overthinking on my part, I finally bought my first levergun. I found a 1949 Marlin 336 RC .30 WCF at a somewhat local (45 minutes away) gunshop. The bluing is starting to fade due to wear, but the stock and forend are in good shape. It came with a Lyman 56 sight. I had the gunsmith install a fiberoptic from sight. All this for $250 + front sight installation. I thought it was a good deal. I picked up some Winchester 150 gr. Super X, Federal Power Shok 150 gr FN, and Federal Fusion 150 gr bullets to see what it likes best. I also want to try the LE's so see if the old gal likes them. The only thing left to do is head to the range!

Welcome to the fire.

Re: 1st Levergun
Welcome to the fire. That is a nice rifle. I prefer the rifles of that vintage. Most of mine that I like best are from the '40's. Best of luck with it!

Very good choice for your first levergun.

My first lever, well my first gun is a 1949 336A, that my Dad gave me when I was 12 after shooting my first Mule Deer with it. Love that old rifle, you picked out a good one, congrats and welcome!
