Duke Holster question

Hi!

I want a Duke holster for my .45 SAA 4 3/4", and perhaps an accompaning Cross draw ( also strong side - I´m a right hander ) holster for an Uberti Rem 1875 7 1/2". Of course as I do not compete some really good names might be too expensive.

What would YOU recommend?

Lined or unlined, Bianchi ( looks like a straight drop to me! ), Triple K, ... name what you´ve got and are happy or not with!

Yes, saw the Galco at Cabela´s and couldn´t decide between that and Triple K´s "Rooster Cogburn" one - now that´s solved.

Is the Bianchi Version Suede lined?

I noticed, that opticsplanet offers different sizes, not only lenghts. That´s what disturbed me in the first place, there is a difference between Colt´s and Ruger´s in size ...

So at Cabela´s its one size fits all, opticsplanet offers options, we´ll see, if they ship to Austria ...

I can hardly wait any longer for that holster )

Its lined, its priced right, but seems to straight in drop for me. What do the Experts say??

My son got an El Paso for his SBH and it's as good as any I've seen.

I think if you go back and look at Optics Planet, there aren't different sizes for the Colts and Rugers. The different numbers are for right and left hand.

I use one of the 1880's for a Ruger Lipsey's .44 special, which has the smaller frame close to the Colt, and it fits well.

got my Galco 1880´s in NO TIME AT ALL!!

Cheaper than Cabela´s.

There was NO Customs on the package!?!?

Holster seemed small ( but then the SAA is really nimble relative to the BIG Cartridges it accommodates ) and "hard". Sadly not lined.

But when I shoved the SAA in, all critics went away:

it fit like a handmade glove!

No wobbling, no scratching, no hard pushing necessary, but such a fine fit Gun went in effortlessly, yet fit´s so well it will hold the gun, even if turned ( gently and above something soft! ) upside down!

Tong was factory adjusted for perfect fit!

Left me speechless!

( but my wife was >really< grinning when I tried it and posed before the mirror ... )

I have the Shootist El Paso Rt. hand, A crossdraw and .45 cal. moneybelt with loops that are made for 5 1/2" Sa's I believe I gave $360 + shipping. Belt size 36. I'll sell for $300 shipped. It is all as new.

elpaso saddlery actually made the rig wayne wore in the shootist they make very nice rigs i made one for myself and one for my father if i can figure out how to get pics posted i will show what i made for my self.

You might also look at DiSantis. May take a call as the under barrel web on the 1875 makes it a poor fit in some holsters for the SAA.

My vote goes for El Paso Saddlery or Carrico's Leatherworks, David does some great work.

I bought the Duke rig made by El Paso Saddlery over 20 years ago. Added a crossdraw holster from them not too much later. Still use the holsters on occasion, although the belt seems to have shrunk (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). It's been good gunleather.
