Hello all,
I don't post much but I watch all the time. I have a hankering for a redfield all steel receiver sight to go on my straight grip Marlin 39a. I have a foolproof on it now, but aluminum is aluminum and steel is nicer to my eye. I would settle for an all steel lyman but I really like the looks of a redfield.
My question is what number redfields fit the 39a, or does anyone have one for sale?
TIA
Brad Hurt

Redfield 102's, 70's, & 80's that have an "O" stamped, usually on the bridge, are for the 39/39A. An older, all steel, Lyman 66MC will be easier to find and are usually less expensive.
The flashed washed this out. The bridge and knobs are blue gray, not silver, but it's a Redfield 70, with Target knobs.

I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
Re: marlin 39a and redfield sight
by the bridge I am assuming you mean the leg that crosses the top of the receiver, and O is the only model that will work on these?
I agree the Lyman is cheaper, but I think the redfield looks a little classier and I will probably spring for the extra bucks. This rifle is a shooter now and I want it to be a looker when I get done with it. I have a chunk of english walnut laid aside just perfect for this gun.
Thanks,
Brad

You can narrow it down by finding a sight, with a flat mounting base and mounting holes about 3/8" apart. Sometimes the "O" will be on the inside of the base, but most of the time you will have to take the slide/bridge off and look around.

don't worry about the flash - we can see it, and it's a beauty.
