Anyway all week I have missed using my muskets, sneaking up close and making smoke etc so last night I made ready the bag to go out early with my Enfield p58 in .58 smooth bore.
This morning I used shot only, 1oz of English 5s, three cards and 80grn equiv of pyrodex.
I did try something else though, I short started the cards and then sent a greased patch down on top of the cards that formed a small shot cup. Then added the shot and over shot card and then sent the lot down. Worked well. Three shots later I had three rabbits two of which were a little over thirty yards and one of them was only showing it's head and shoulders.
A little thanks giving and I set of for home, five hours in the great outdoors.
Shooting at long range is fun but this is even more fun and rewarding too.
