i've been looking for brass so i stopped to talk with him a bit. he said
his father [now deceased] was a gunsmith and had reloaded this years ago.
well i finally talked enough, that he gave me a deal i could not refuse.
so these came home with me.
being the trusting kinda guy i am, i'm breaking these loads down.
i will use the components again, but for the powder. so in the box
are several different loads the seller could not tell me about.
two types of proj.
some of the jacketed stuff had 13+ grns of what looks like unique in them.
pretty stout, glad i did not pull that trigger. some had really shiny, black,
irregular powder i'm not familiar with. but the odd thing was most of the lead
swc loads had wax discs pressed in between powder and bullet.
i have never seen it done this way before, have you?
they were loaded with 6 grns of a familiar looking powder,
but i can't recall what it is. light gray, almost translucent round flakes.
it's all gone now, ready to reroll .
gotta get busy.
