Miroku does make a fine Winchester

Post by jdad »

I brought home a Brownchester 52 Sporter yesterday. Shoots as well as it looks and except for the "Browning" & "Made in Japan", it's a dead ringer for the long gone Winchester version. I would have no problem buying any rifle Miroku produces, with this level of craftsmanship.

Nice gun! Been many years since an American made Winchester could hold a candle to a Jap one.

I have to agree. I've owned three of them, a Browning 1886 SRC, a Browning 1886 Extra Light, and a Browning 1892 45 Colt rifle. All of them were beautiful in fit and finish. The only thing I didn't really like was the 'Made in Japan', but I soon didn't notice that. The quality of those rifles was excellent.

That's just oil reflection. There will be no "Bubba" work done to this rifle. :D

It shoots 1/2" groups all day, at 50yds, with Wolf MT. Once I upgrade the scope, to a Weaver V-16, the groups will shrink.

Jdad, that has to be the nicest 22 I've ever set eyes on.

In 1995 Miroku, under license from USRA, made 8.000 "centennial" models of Winchester 95s in 30-06 - half in Grade 1 and half in Hi Grade.

Here's mine in Hi Grade -

I have been in rut for one of the Model 52's for a while, there was one new in the box for sale on one of these boards a week or so ago, I dithered too long. :(

Thanks - I look nearly every day but guess I haven't had anything worth while to say. Maybe I'm getting smarter as I age -

Naw - my wife says I haven't changed -

I don't think this is much OT but, Miroku has always made the Browning BL22 - which I think is a class gun that looks like a Winchester -
