Cleaning solvents and artifical case hardened finishes

Post by Dino »

I finally got a chance to shoot my Cimarron 1892 over the weekend .... what a blast! :D

The action was silky smooth, everything cylced perfectly, and the rifle was surprisingly accurate right out of the box!

My question is ...
The rifle has a case hardened finish and I've heard that most cleaning solvents will remove it!

What do you guys recommend I use?

What does the manufacturer suggest? I inadvertently removed my fake CCH and it turned out looking like a 100 year old piece so I'm not a good one to answer your question.
