I imagine civil war pistols are extremely valuable. Those civil war pieces made in Italy for U.S. forces would have to be almost priceless..

I kept trying to tell him it was just a reproduction, but he was too excited to hear me. When I told him we would shoot it after our meeting this weekend, he about pooped himself.
He has IM'd me about every day with what he has learned on the internet about these pistols, and has ordered one from Cabelas, I think.
The AK is the only gun he owns, and believe it or not ,he bear hunts with it!

And depending on who built the 74, $400 may not touch a replacement for it.
I love the 5.45 but there's no chance I would use it as my "primary" in bear country. Come to think of it, I wouldn't hunt bear with anything less than a 20mm. I want to be sure it AIN'T getting back up...
There's a shop near me with an Italian replica with 0% finish left, serious timing issues and they are only asking $500 for it (on sale from $900). When I asked for a magnifier to make out the markings they told me it was a replica.
If these walls could talk, I'd listen to the floor.

There is a fine line between hobby & obsession! AND... I'm over it!!
No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
Lot's of men do things the right way when others are looking, and many times BECAUSE others are looking. It's what you do when no one is looking(save the Good Lord Himself) that matters, and is the measure of a man. I'd say you did good!
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Yup. They did have two but I had never looked at them. This time I saw there was only one and asked to see it. The cylinder spins with the hammer down between the nipples, when it's at half cock and when it's at full cock. I don't mean "it moves a little", I mean I can SPIN it!
IIRC it's a .36 Navy...

I think the Italian replica percussion revolvers are one of the last real bargins left in the world of firearms any more. You can get a lot for your money with the Ubertis and Piettas. Well made and great shooters.
