I ain't about to condone their actions (well... alleged actions), but to make something illegal in our country for actions that, if not legal, are generally acceptable, maybe even expected, in another country is the height of conceit.

That's small potatoes compared to the billions in bribes handed out to get Obama's health care plan passed.

Another example of the FBI trying to justify their unconstitutional existence.

Given the amount of interstate theft and violent crime and so forth that they SHOULD be focusing on, I'm thinking their priorities have been Obamanized...

(...and yes, I know you could substitute 'Bushized', because he wasn't exactly a Constitutional defender, but I wasn't sure of whether or not to insert a hyphen and make it 'Bush-ized', so I took the easy way out... )

Ya now the Europeans, Chinese, or other foreign manufacturer can step in and sell some real stuff!! To that African nation. Smells of some sort of entrapment to me. And besides I don't think this kind of behaviour is really anything new. It happens in a great many deals (called greasing the wheels) Government is ripe with this sort of thing.

Have to give my oldest son a call. He's down there at the SHOT show now. See what went down when the FBI staged this whole "arrest" at the show. They could easily have done the arrest at S&W headquarters, but that wouldn't have gotten them near the press coverage that the show got them.
You'd think there might be some politician in DC that they could find some dirt on?

There are plenty of countries where you flat out can't do business unless you grease the palms of every two-bit political hack between the border and the contract you want.

This law is a big hindrance to American companies trying to do business with Third World nations.

Even so, those folks were not overly smart to get caught arranging stuff like that when they knew it was illegal.

So let me see if I understand this... It is now illegal to provide a good deal and apply a little grease to a foreign purchase agent for goods that you will legally provide to secure a deal.

HOWEVER, it is LEGAL for our congressmen to to seek special incentives such as TAX EXEMPTIONS or special favors to special intrest groups to swing their vote regarding a bill.

Yep our justice system definately needs overhauled!

Yep, you got it! i believe this happy horse manure started in the Carter Admininstration, prior o that people understood that you had to do business the local way in other countries.

GIVE THAT MAN A CIGAR!! he understands it perfectly!!!!!

AMEN BROTHER!! But actually it is less the legal system which does it's job, after a fashion, needing an overhaul as much as it is Congress which needs to have its head forcibly extracted from deep in it's own fundament
