Post by J Miller »

OK, Arizona lever gunners now is the time to kick the environmental wackos is in butt. The meeting at AZ game and fish is this coming Friday.
Be there and be heard or join CA hunters and shooters that are without usable bullets.

As many of you know all too well, California’s gun bans and environmental extremism have an unfortunate tendency to migrate east. There is no more recent example of this than California’s three month-old lead ammunition ban imposed on all hunters within the vast condor range that covers nearly one-third of the state’s land mass. Arizona has a “nonessential experimentalâ€

Having spend many years living in AZ I can say there are not as many environmental wackos as there are in CA. The hunters and shooters in AZ have put up a lot of fight in the past. I just hope they remember how. I'd like to move back some day, but not if lead ammo is banned.

Wow Joe. For a guy that has a brother living in CA, I'd think you would be kinder to us Californians. Personally, I prefer being called a person that lives in the "Land of Fruits and Nuts". Sooooooooooo, "nutty" wouldn't be a bad description. Whacko implies a user of Whacky Tabacy and I am in no way involved with that.

Having said all that above, our (CA's) whackos are in AZ helping the AZ whackos as I type this and eventually they and the AZ whachos will prevail. Why you ask???? Because the Feds are currently involved in a lead ban for all Federal Land just like they have for their Wild Life Preserves. They (the Feds) were successful in banning lead for Duck and Geese hunting and their next step (coming sooner than later) is to ban lead for hunting all game on Federal Land.

Good luck to you AZ guys & gals but even if you delay it now, get used to the idea because it coming. That goes for all fifty states -- yes, even TN.

Oh, get ready for a push for banning lead from gun ranges.

Ed,
I said nothing derogatory about CA lever gunners and decent folks in general. Simply made reference to the fact that CA has more wackos than AZ .... for now.

There is another news item on my ISP right now, MA has bills in their legislature that would ban lead ammo.

The socialists / communists are gonna win guys. There just isn't enough real shooters left anymore that are willing to put up a winning fight.

Ca does have more wackos than any place else. And those who want something from the govt. The dem politicians and judges here are among them. They will go with any idiot idea as you are seeing. 90% = of the problem is within 50 miles of the coast. Remove LA and the Bay area and the whole thing would be OK.

Couldnt agree with you more Old Savage, perhaps we need one of those good ole Ca quakes and maybe both those spots would slide into the Pacific.
I still havent figured out if I'm in the no lead area, bieng in the "high desert" (D9), the wording is confusing as it's written. If anyone has any insight on that please let me know.
Good luck to you all in Arizona and the other 49

By the way, no offense to those of you who have to live in the bay area or LA basin :D

Old Savage,
You got the same problem in CA we have in IL. We keep hoping for an earth quake that would send Chicago deep into the lake. That would end 99% of Illinois problems all at once.

That's a good question about D9; however, the latest information I have says D9 is in the lead free ban area.
Image
D7, D8, & D9 are included in what they (DFG) are claiming the "Historical Range" of the Condor. If you'll notice, D10 & D11 are in the current Condor range. For now, I110 & I10 are the Southern boundaries for the Condor lead free ban area. As a matter of fact the greenish shaded area in the right leg of the "V" as you are looking at the picture are the exact boundaries of D7, D8, D9, D10, & D11 (from North to South) with D13 just to the West of D10 & D11.

The Devil is in the details and we will have to wait for the FINAL "Fur Bearing Mammal" hunting regulations to come out.
