I had one of those once. Shot very well and carried nice. I can't remember why or for what I traded it for but probabably shouldn't have considering what they are selling for now. How many hoops would you have to jump through if you decided to buy it?

Nath,
I have one and I like it. Especially the ability to fire spitzer bulleted cartridges from a strong LA.
I also have a M100 semi-auto that has some similarities in bolt, styling, etc. but it won't let me fire cast bullets, light or squib loads, etc. It will however shoot one inch groups with a Williams receiver sight? Shot rings around a friend's expensive H&K. I paid $250 second hand years ago.
The M88 you are looking at is a good price, less than what I had to pay for mine two years ago.

If I wanted that rifle I would have to;iceman wrote:I had one of those once. Shot very well and carried nice. Get the dealer to hold it for me.
Send my licence in with an application for another rifle with a good reason for wanting it!
Or trade a rifle and again submit my licence and application plus reciept from trade.

Re: For sale in Britain!
Nath, that is VERY reasonable. What's the catch?
Re: For sale in Britain!
I doubt there is any catch OTH, levers ain't that popular for hunting over here.Old Time Hunter wrote:Nath, that is VERY reasonable. What's the catch?
There is alot of snobbery and biased opinion over here.
One feller I know looks down on cheap rifles and would only ever consider expensive stuff even though he is not a wealthy man however he bangs and bumps what ever he has untill it is worthless all the same. At the same time he will call a levergun a "cowboy gun" which curdles my blood!

Gday Nath, looks like a fine buy to me. Some folks just love wallowing in their ignorance and the good stuff goes past them.

Re: For sale in Britain!
Considering that I had just seen an 88 on a table at the local gunshow for $800, that is a great price.
Cal .308, and 85+% condition, if not better. No handling marks on wood, just a couple on the metal.
