Help me out fellas. I've been bouncing around the internet, trying to find gun boards that aren't nauseating to frequent. They're tough to find. I still remember the days of the original boards that were little more than e-lists, and you were more likely than not to run into plain speaking folks like Paco, Jim Taylor, Terry (good to see you again) Murbach, John Taffin, and many other guys who actually DO things. Instead I'm finding keyboard commandos, fakes, wannabe's & the PC crowd. I mostly do sixguns, 1911s & a little rifle work. So basically, where does the rest of my species frequent? To keep this thread on topic, I gave up on the S&W Forums long ago

Re: OT. I JUST GOT KICKED OFF THE S&W FORUM, AGAIN.
So far the Mods over at the S&W forum haven't answered my question why they banned Mr. Terry.
Doubt they will judging from what I am hearing about that forum.

Ok, I count myself as a "real" shooter, handloader, innovator, etc with 40+ years of gun addiction.anachronism wrote:Help me out fellas. I hang out here, I also frequent the SASS Wire, Handloads.com (handgun board), and have been a member of the Guns and ammo forum in it's various guises for about 10 years. I HAVE asked historical questions and got good answers about the when and whatnot of obscure old Smiths on the S&W board, but don't hang there. I find each of the forums (fora???) has it's plusses and minuses, each it's own "flavor" if you will. and yes, there is a good bit of overlap in the board denizons, some of whom use the same name everywhere, some mix it up a bit. I have learned a lot from men like Jim T and a host of others. I;ve also been with it long enough to see a raw newbie handloader/kitchen table gun butcher mature into a superb BR shooter/riflesmith. If I had a dime for every paragraph of answers to his questions I'd be chasing Tiger Woods overflow.... It's all a COMMUNITY, and that means ya take the bitter with the sweet, but ya try and fit in when yer around so your "signal" is not lost due to "static" .....

Re: OT. I JUST GOT KICKED OFF THE S&W FORUM, AGAIN.
I'm thinking maybe it was the part where you called forum members over there "turdsuckers" that got you banned but it could have been the part where you called a guy a "nut" because he was down on some product of some sort. Smooth, very smooth. But hey, at least you didn't call anyone a spade.CraigC wrote: Must be something in the water Terry, after eight years and over 4000 posts, I got banned from TFL last week for calling somebody a "nut". Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade. It was a waste of time anyway.![]()

Terry,
I know why you got kicked off. I've seen it in the classroom when I was a kid. You need to be more assertive.

I happen to like the S&W Forum, and don't consider myself either a snob or an elitist. There's good and bad, and varying personalities on every Forum that I've been on. Most of the folks over on the Smith forum have been helpful and quite pleasant to me, even on those days when I was quite crabby. My 02.
Re: OT. I JUST GOT KICKED OFF THE S&W FORUM, AGAIN.
Few years ago I never heard of forums, did you? I enjoy reading some post, ones I don't, I don't read. Seems to me that this is a classic "stick and stone's". If a forum does not like you...sooo.. 2 cents worth.
Any word on Paco's situation? Not thats is any of my business.

Just remember, when you stand far enough back, you can see the difference between jam and poop. Anyone trying to be politically correct is usually just being condescending and/or patronizing. From what I reckon, Terry is closer to the jam than the poop.
Don't mean to get all 'motional and all, but this is the best site I frequent, and Terry is part of that reason.

Oh yea, a few years ago I got kicked off THR because when offering an opinion on types of guns and being asked why, I answered: "cause one is a "girly" gun and the other is a "REAL" gun". Then something happened over there and somehow there was two THR's, I received an e-mail asking to come back...somehow ended up on both. Pretty much soured me to both though.

Terry,
Besides this one, I'm interested in loading standard calibers with cast bullets. I became a member of the "Cast Boolets" website. They seem like a pretty good group. No problems there yet. I go on "Graybeard Outdoors" as well. So far so good with that one. That makes 3 including this one, and all have been pretty good IMO (so far). I see no need, at least for me, to try others at the moment. If I get kicked off any of the 3 I mentioned it will be my own fault, most likely--but I reserve the right to bail on my own from anything I've joined if it gets too political, too off-topic, or too idiotic.

You still have it wrong, Terry!Terry Murbach wrote:Hobie, I am gonna go with some of the fellows here and go back to no-caps. This seems important to some of the good guys here and Adirondackjack had a post here that registered big time. I think it was the story about his Daddy that clicked in for me as my Daddy has been gone now nine years next February 22, 2010.Hobie wrote:I'm going to say this once, fogitabutit!Bruce wrote:Terry,

Turn off your Caps.
Your posts are OK, but your lack of response to this Caps issue is not!!!!
Now, If you do not know how, and I mean this with respect. Look over to the left of your key board. See the key marked Caps Lock - hit it once.
It is understood that "All Caps" is yelling on the Internet and if you do this elsewhere - that is probably why your posts are being deleted/banned.
I have a hell of a time typing in non-caps as i have to go back and put the caps where they belong and fix all the punctuation that is totally messed up for some reason. The guys here have been good to me, have been there when the DR said i was gonna be DOA shortly, and they kept my spirits up when the going was tough. Heck, folks I did not know sent me books to read and all sorts of cheery messages etc. If getting the caps habit out of my way of doing things helps please them let's go for it !!!
You need to
double space when you
make long statements containing
many words, so things aren't
all crammed together!

Just a question, are you guys that keep harping on Terrys all caps, punctuation, and grammar actually trying to drive him away? Sure as hell looks like it to me.
You're coming awfully close to harassment from my view point.
