Post by jdad »

My wife already said, "NO!". :D I told her it was a "display" gun and it would help the ambiance, of my office, but still "NO!". :D

I don't know why anyone in their right mind would include a woman in a decision such as this.

Do you get lonely letting the little lady hold on to the boys?

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

You and me both... The closest I've managed is firing a mag out of a semi-auto that belonged to an acquaintance. All the fun of the Garand with half the recoil.

Find out what your wife wants for HER hobby, then you have a bargaining tool...

Sure, you can get that fancy new sewing machine, 4x4 quad, or new floor for the family room, when I get my BAR replica...!

I fired a couple mags out of one of those in '66 in Marine Corps Infantry training regiment on a familiarization course before crossing the water.

We fired from a prone position using the bipods on dirt shooting off a bluff to a fire zone a couple hundred yards out and below us.

It was one of the most fun guns I ever fired. The only problem was that once you pulled the trigger, the dust from the '06's muzzle blast that close to the ground obscured everything in the fire zone. Everyone else told me we were hittin where we aimed though.

I can tell you I'm sure glad I was never on the other end of one of those.

awp101, thanks for sharing. Great Video.
That BAR would make a very interesting conversation piece.
