45/70 in a 45/75

Post by redbeardinntx »

I've been checking around a few sites, looking at the 1886 rifles and cant fid one in 45/70. Im wonderig if the 45/75 will safely shoot the 45/70. I dont know much about the 45/75, but understand that you can fire the 45/70 in single shots like 45/90 45/110 et al. I would imagine if you did so that there would be some type of build up in the chamber like shooting 38s in a 357. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this ? Thanks Sam

NO, YOU CANNOT DO THAT. THE 45-75 IS A NECKED CARTRIDGE AND THE 45-70 IS A STRAIGHT CARTRIDGE.
