whats the best load or weight ammo for a 1919 winchester 30

my carbine is alittle frosty but works thinking prob winchester 150gr would work best? looking for best groups to 100yrds.

That'd be as good a guess as any, but it would just be a guess. Most of my .30-30s seem to prefer Remington 170 gr. loads, but ammo preference is something peculiar to each rifle.

Every rifle is different. I guess you WANT it to be the 150 gr. load.

I've had the most consistent results with Winchester brand 150gr PP ammo in all the Win 94s I've owned. Or the hand load that duplicates that load.

My suggestion is to purchase a box each of Win 150 and 170gr ammo. Try that, then try the Remington 150 and 170 gr ammo. Then Federal if you want.

Your rifle will tell you what it likes the best.
