This my second day on the forum and I am again picking your brains for info. Yesterday everyone who replyed to my post gave me great info & photos, THANKS
I want to purchase a Lever Action Shotgun along with the Lever Action Rifle in .35. The only one I came across was made my Charles Daily "1887 Lever Action Shotgun". I have not read any good reviews on CD Hunting Shotguns and can't find any reviews on their Lever Action Shotgun. Does anyone know anything about CD or if anyone else makes a L.A. Shotgun?

The Marstar website here in Canada, says they cannot ship Norinco products to the USA because of the Chinese embargo. Decent looking shotgun, but I've yet to handle one.
got an iac. a blast to shoot. no problems after about 100 rounds of slug, buckshot and game loads. you got to work the lever hard to get full functioning. short of like not shortstroking a pump gun.
The Charles Daly and other importers of the replica 1887 Winchester lever-action shotguns are geared to the Cowboy Action Shooting market. I don't recall off the top of my head who the maker really is... but you'd be better off going to a CAS site and doing a seach on 1887 shotguns to see what they think of them.
I would suggest CAS City's Gun Review section, and with a quick seach using just "1887" I found the following threads: Reviews of various 1887 replicas, mainly discussions of the AIC Norinco copy. When did this embargo take place?
Joe Reilly wrote:IAC (Norinco?) makes a Model 1887 in China. I have one, it seems ok. A few have been discussed here before.
Joe I did read something about the Norinco, I didn't think it could be purchased here because of the trade embargo with China.
The Charles Daly is made for them by Chiappa of Italy. It's relatively new to the scene. I don't think they are even available as of yet.
The Chinese 1887 is imported by Interstate Arms Corp. IAC. you will see it listed as a Norinco but distributor like Davidson's do that for name recognition mostly. If you search their site for the IAC or the Norinco you will see they the same part #.
This is one of the IAC's. This was a CAS customers gun that got action work and the feed two option. While It was here the action parts and screws were send out for NP3.
Before you buy one of these you should know even the original didn't extract and eject very well. The IAC reproduction does OK with premium ammo but the cheap stuff may be a problem. The original was designed by John Browning but somewhat under protest. He had his 93 pump (later to become the 97) ready but Winchester thought their market was for leveractions. By the time this 87 made it to market the Spencer pumps were taking the majority of the market share. The 87 never really caught on so by 1893 Winchester had a Pump, too.
The 87 is a fun gun but the pumps definately work better.
theres also the KESSLER lever action shotguns made in 1951 - 1953 if im thinking right, I have 1 that i shortened the barrel on and threaded for the browning invectors also added a peep sight and front sight, i use a rifled choke tube and slugs and boy does it shoot good, also can use any regular choked invectors. I cant post pictures right now but do a search they are pretty cool guns, but hard to find.
Ive considered selling mine to help fund my 22 bench rest gun addiction
I love my 1901 Winchester. Got tired of reloading and clean up of black powder for my Win 1887. I thought about a Norinco especially when Coyote Cap was talking about a longer barreled version. I am so happy I didn't go that route. Something about being in the woods hunting with a 100 plus year old gun. I would recommend you consider finding a 1901 if you are up for reloading 2 7/8" 10 ga ammo. You can also buy appropriate ammo from RST
I have had marlins .410 in ss in my hands and was very tempted. always looking for a good fuzzy tail popper. the 9410 is very kewl and I regret getting rid of mine. I think the others have covered the larger bore varieties.

My Buddy owns an original M1887 and a M1901 in addition to a Norinco and I also own a Norinco. I have shot all three and worked on each. The Norinco's at this time are only available with a short barrel and no choke. I put a screww in choke in mine and use it for turkey hunting and it works fine. The problem with all these guns is the stock design. For a fellow over 6 foot the stocks are short and they drop a LOT. To hit reliabley you need a head up shooting position. That's all right is you can use only one gun but switching back and forth between shotguns requires a practice session to get the positioning right. I will NOT shoot smokless in either the 1887 or the 1901 as I have had to fix too many cracked frames, they just won't hold smokless no matter what anyone tells you. The norinco's work fine with smokless but sometimes wont eject the cheap aluminum base shells. I have yet to handle a Charles Daley from Chiappa and will make no comment til I can shoot one, but at those prices you could buy an origianl almost.
This is a fairly easy to find shotgun on the used market. Model 66 by Ithaca.
The lever opens the single-shot action. My 20 gauge came with modified choke. Dozens of ring neck pheasants have been dropped with this shotgun and high base #6 shot.
Good shooting to you.

I thought there was an Australian company gearing up to produce these.......then again, I'm not as young as I used to be.....
There was. It was Australian Defence Industries (ADI) a private concern which took over the Lithgow Small-Arms Factory and other government defence assets. There were some development issues and unfortunately, Norinco got their's into the market place first. ADI could not compete pricewise and as far as I am aware the project has been shelved. I understand some 20 or so of the ADIs are in private hands. They sell for big bucks.
Appreciate all the great info. What I have found in the last few days is that Armi Chiappa / Armi Sport make most of the lever action rifles & shotguns that are sold under different names by different companys.
Marstar Canada (Norinco) Cimarron F.A Co (Cimarron Firearms) KBI (Charles Daly) and Taylor's And Co. (Taylor's And Company).
Would like to stay with 12 gauge my concern with the 410 is the availability of ammo down the road. Have just started reloading ammo for my .357 the problem is finding primers here in the Garbage State.
Nate & t.r. thanks for posting the photos.
