Prayer Request for Mom UPDATED in last post

Post by Hobie »

I hope you guys will join me in prayer for my Mother. She's gone into the hospital for diminished O2 levels, IOW, she can't breathe well. They think they've traced the cause of this to a compression fracture of t12 vertebrae. Due to her Alzheimer's she'll have to be sedated for the MRI needed to determine if corrective surgery is a possibility/good thing. She was in the ER from 5:30 AM until 8:00+ PM yesterday. I do believe she needs some strength to get through this. Thanks.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Done.

ER's can sometimes be a bite, unless the patient's unaware.
I spent 30 hours in one a few years ago, actually part of the time in a hallway - because there were no empty beds (hospital rooms) to be had until then.

Mom went through the MRI with apparent ease and she did indeed have compression fractures in T11, T12 and L3. She had a surgery to T11 and T12 today with another for L3 scheduled for Wednesday. In this surgery they use a cement "plug" to knit the vertebrae (forgive me if I've used the wrong form) back together. This has a reputation for reducing/ending pain immediately. I hope this does the trick.

Many thanks for all your prayers.
Sincerely,

Hobie

The first operation on T11 and T12 went well. She's getting more fiesty already. Was having a snooze when we visited and might be going in for L3 this afternoon. If so, she might go home tomorrow. They will be having her checked out for the O2 levels prior to release.

Hobie

Gentlemen,

I hope you will continue prayers for Mom. Her posture has returned, why we don't know, to the stooped head position. She can lift her head but doesn't want to try. Many thanks to all for prayers past...

I feel for you Hobie. My Mom is real sick with chronic asthma but also seems to have developed bronchitis while I'm down here in SoCal. She's on antibiotics now and should be OK, but they we still need to deal with the chronic asthma after that. She can hardly breath at times and it scares me. Anyhow, enough said, and more prayers for your Mom are sent.
