We had others this year but this one was the most fun. Home owner is a hunter and
shooter and wanted a "Man Cave" for his family room.
I thought I had a finished photo but must not have taken one.

Spent just about every weekend working on one of the rental houses that was
stripped down to nothing by the previous tenant.
Still be working on it if it wasn't for all the help from Blondie and the boys!

No, wasn't planned.

The guy has two teenage daughters. One was home working on dinner when one of the
the dogs got loose. By the time she got back ( forgetting to turn off the burner) the kitchen was on fire
and out of control.
They did lose one of their beagles. The poor girl was devistated.
At lest she wasn't hurt.
Good folks! ]
I wish they wer all that wasy to work with!!

Now that I think about it a pretty busy year.

Got laid off from a job I had for 13 years. Company was bought by the competition. Got a nice package.
Had the summer off. Did some fishing between rain storms.
Sold a few firearms a Mossberg bolt 12 ga, a Browning Abolt.
Bought a Model 99F in 300 savage, A mossberg 535 12 ga, and a CVA wolf 50 cal muzzle loader.
got a new job with the company that bought my old company with a nice raise.
Bought a Hyundai Sante Fe for work (company alowance for a vehicle more than covers cost) REALLY LIKE IT.
Just had my 27 year anniversary with my wife on Thursday.
If I don't die by Saturday I will have my 55th birthday.
Health of all my family is great including my 89 year old Mom.
All in all a pretty good year and I consider myself a VERY lucky and blessed man.

I provided about $272,000 in FREE health-care services to people; problem is, I didn't get any say as to which ones, so the beneficiaries were generally the politically-favored - employees of large corporations, UAW members, and single-by-choice parents of several children who have a permanent 'boyfriend' who makes more per hour than i do.

Then, I paid bunches of taxes on the money I actually was paid. :(

Not nearly enough.... And with each passing year, more and more gets put on the "bucket list" and less and less of what I truly want to do gets done. The focus always seems to be keeping your head above water and dealing with the day-to-day and kids stuff.

I had two great trips to Ethiopia, ministering to the village of Sendafa and the people there. Brought water to the town of 20,000 in a new well.

My Senior Design Teams at JHU completed all 9 industrial projects with flying colors, resulting in four getting provisional patents.

Started a Walk for Grace, learning more about God's Grace in the people I met on the streets of the cities I walked. More information on that here: http://lci.typepad.com/leaders_resourci ... n-walking/

Deepened my Walk with God, and the relationships of my friends and those here.

bought some firearms, sold some.

reduced my possessions, read more, cried more, laughed more, felt more, engaged more, tried harder, was more intentional, more wisely strategic, more surrendered, more self aware.

Well I got my old 1976 Goldwing running and back on the road. Then I wrecked my old 1971 Camaro, so I began a 6 month restoration (so far) that's not quite done. Sold a few guns from my collection to do the Camaro resto, then sold a few more to continue it. Busted up my right knee again for the third time. Other than that it's been pretty boring year!

I finally finished grad school, ten years after starting. I changed jobs (and was darn glad for the opportunity in today's economic climate). As a result I spent five and a half months of the year gone from home. I managed to pick up a few toys along the way, and I got back in time for my first anniversary. I was also able to do more deer hunting this year than ever before: not successful deer hunting, but that ain't the point.

Marlinman, that picture reminded me of a old picture of my 76 Trans Am. Its long gone, but my citaberia airplane is almost finished being restored. I am either going to have to get active flying again, or sell it. For various reasons I am pressured to sell it.

I HOPE to move up in silhouette to AAA in long range, I have one match left and need one more score. If I don't get it this year, I will have to do two such scores next year to qualify.
Well I did it! Shot a 30 in long range with my .357 Legacy last Saturday. Glad they lowered the requirements for AAA (my previous scores were 32 and 33). Now it's just for fun.

Big accomplishement for 2010 will be to clean up the apartment - YIKES!!!

Solidified myself in my work, and can still enjoy it.

Kept on remodeling the house we purchased last year after moving for second time in same number of years.

Traded for/ or purchased a couple of guns. Made the decision to simplify my current battery. Am still considering how to reduce further.... Did make one purchase for fun: rebuying a John Bodine Rolling block in 45/70 from a friend that I had started (much to the Mrs.' intense dismay back then) paying for many years ago.

Watching my boys grow into better young men every day.

Started yoga, and finding that it helps me out in more ways than just flexibility on the physical level.

Let's see - we did our part to keep the economy from complety crashing.
Bought a new Madza 3 for the boy and I to share
bought a Savage 110 bolt gun in nice shape for $50
bought a Mossberg 590A1 with Surefire light and Vang Comp barrel for $125
Finally bought myself a brand new professional quality tuba - my first new brass instrument in forty years!
Had a health scare in September - chest pains. Cath was done and revealed no damage and vessels looked great according to cardiologist. Also had minor urological work done - wearing a catheter is the ultimate male torture device. Overall, a good year. Hope next year is better for everyone.
Winchester M94 30-30 (1980)
Winchester M70 Westerner 30-06 (1982)
Winchester M1 Garand (1942)
Too many others to list - hope to add more levers soon.

Thanks! Guess I've lived then! Ever been to Hot August Nights in Reno, Nv.? They estimate that about 1 million people come to the show there, and they cut the cars that enter off at 3,500 but there's probably 4 times that running around town not entered officially!

In Feb. built a bonfire and sent my pal Snuffy to dog heaven. He was killed by to Rottwilers that had been allowed to roam. A few weeks later a friend advised me that the rotties no longer roamed this earth.

In June went to the Indiana levergunners shoot and met up with some fellow levergun members.

In Aug or Sept bought a Rem 513T from Old Iron Sights

In Oct received early retirement from the company I worked for 35 yrs. (4 yrs before I had planned) Now living on 1 yr severance pay and looking for a job.

Also, wife and I spent the month of Oct in southern Illinois with my mother while she recovered from hip replacement surgery.

Nov home for a couple of weeks then back to Illinois to take mom for her 6 week check up and stayed thru Thanksgiving.

Dec short trip to Illinois for Christmas with mom and the rest of the family, then home for Christmas with our kids and grandkids.

Now just passing time leisurely, watching the snow fall, and thinking of more places to look for a job. Wal-mart didn't even hire extras for the holiday season this year.
