WANTED .....DEAD OR ALIVE

Post by RIHMFIRE »

I just picked up the entire series of
"WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE"
with Steve McQueen....and it is awesome...so far
Steve McQueen in his career defining role as bounty hunter Josh Randall.
Originally aired on CBS from 1958-1961.
The intro to each episode is cool...love the music....
I watched a few episodes last night.....and the bad guys
kept taking his gun away....not a good idea!

I have got to get one of those Mares Legs...
it aint good for nothing...but it would be a blast to shoot
Anyone here have one?
just fond one at gunbroker....maybe not!$$$$
http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.a ... =149638946

The Box set includes all 94, 1/2 hour episodes

Definately worth the 20 bucks. Great stocking stuffer

Sounds great--did the same with The Rifleman a few years ago. Amazing how you can blast through a lot of episodes even in one sitting without the pesky commercials! Can I ask where you got--a win or regular deal? Thanks.

PS. You might check this great article by Jeff out. Not sure, but I think this Legacy version is at least a little less pricey.

Yes, please tell where you got it. It cost me about that for just Season 1 off of ebay. I'd like to get the complete set.

Found it on Amazon. Decent prices on other DVDs and gun collector books.

Jeez...for $12.99 tax free and no cost for two day shipping I bought one for sure! I travel for a living so I'll squash all of the episodes into my iPhone and have something to do on the airplane - 94 episodes should take me months to grind through. Thanks for the heads up!

Regarding the mare's leg: would it be legal for a gunsmith to chop a Rossi (or used bargain 92) for us? Seems like it would be much cheaper even with the gunsmith fees because they're getting so much for them new.

Best,
Oly

I've got the Legacy Sports Bounty Hunter mare's leg in .44-40.
Surprisingly accurate off the bench, but not much real practical use.
Wanted one for 50 years, extremely happy with it. Very well built, smooth, lotsa fun.

And- cutting down a Rossi to mare's leg dimensions violates federal law unless you go through the Class III paperwork with $200 tax stamp.

Hmmm...my Amazon says you have to spend $25, and then it's free shipping, but delivery is 7-9 days. Standard shipping is 3-5 days at $2.98. Did I miss a discount code for free 2-day shipping for one item?

You'd have to do the paperwork for a Short Barrel Rifle (SBR). Ooops, DPris already answered...

I found 20 episodes at Walmart for $5.00.

I had it in the back of my mind that cutting a Rossi would run afoul of idiotic legal hurdles. It's okay to make a "pistol" from the git go, but if you do it's a "short barrel rifle".

Regarding Amazon, they have some sort of "Grand Poobah Secret Seal" or whatever that you join once per year and then get free two day shipping all year long and one day for $3.99 if you choose. I buy so much stuff from them that it's well worth it for me. The worst feature is the "One Click" thing that they set up if you do this - dangerous!! "Hmmm, that looks interesting..." [click]

IIRC over at Steve's Guns he had a never before registered '92 receiver a while back. Just what the doctor ordered for making that mare's leg. Since it's never been registered as a rifle it can legally be made into a pistol.

I started the second disc last night and noticed a lot of
the actors and the sets are the same in the Rifleman!

Boy... That would be something...
Lucas Mcain and Josh Randall teaming up
to beat up the bad guys!

I have a Class III shotgun. The Legacy Mares Leg I saw was $1200. So I believe it would be cheaper to buy whatever levergun you desire, pay the $200 tax and do the surgery/have it done.

Am I missing something?

My Serbu Super Shorty was not a problem, just a wait of 3 months, and $5 transfer tax as AOW.
