OT: Long Live the Queen: Queen Elizabeth II

Post by J Miller »

I got an email from another forum member about perspective. Queen Elizabeth II has been the ruling monarch since the days of Harry Truman. All my life (literally) I've read about Queen Elizabeth II. She assumed the throne in 1952 same year as I was born.
Long live the Queen!

There is a great amount of information here in wikipedia:

The system would only allow10 attachments, but I couldn't leave out Truman.
NOTE: I didn't realize the Eisenhower and Truman pics was joined.

I wish she would rule the country again and get rid of the Mob that spend all day B/S ing me!

Ooops sorry getting political, I will stop that.

I like her Husband, he is known for not mincing his words and speaking the truth.

I have more respect for our Queen than any of the politicians we have in the UK.

Joe, I did not expect to see a post such as this on Leverguns. :o

I was honored to engrave a sterling goblet that was presented to her to commemorate her 50 years on the throne. Unfortunately don't have pics, as it was presented in a private ceremony.

To all the boys in England...She was a competitive shooter ( shot the enfield) and was a keen hunter. Just like Prince Phillip & her sons. I can't fault your love for her, nor your lament concerning the current path of your govt. She is a true Lady & a fine Queen. I do believe she would have ruled with honor & dignity...

We have no room to talk...considering the empty suit illegally occupying our beloved white house.

If anyone has any pics of the Queen shooting, it would be greatly appreciated. Loved the pic of the "Guns".

Consider that there is probably not another living human who has seen more from a vantage of national leadership, or who and more keenly understands the dynamics of global politics.

Witness that there are still citizens of the UK who would gladly see her rule.

A remarkable woman.

:)
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

This thread says a lot about the Queen, seeing as how it is mostly us folks from the U.S. who are saying good things about her. We here value our freedom, but that doesn't stop us from giving credit where credit is due. If she would have been ruling back in the 1770s, then there probably wouldn't have been an American Revolution. At least not at that time.

game keeper,
Although the United States rebelled over 200 years ago, we still have a definite link to the UK.
Not to mention that I can only respect a leader, and that's what she is even though she doesn't rule, that has been on the throne for as long as she has.

YK,
If you mean Obama, Bush II, Clinton, Bush I and Carter I'll agree? If you are lumping ALL of them together then I'll have to respectfully disagree. There were a few good ones in that group.

Nath,
Gamekeeper,
Gamekeeper Jr,
And all others,
The Queen is still much beloved in this country,
and should she call me to service,
I would come,
and I will bring my own ammo.

Long Live the Queen.

I remember listening to her coronation ceremony on radio, when I was a little younger. Have always admired her, and pitied her at the same time.
Regards

Buck
