OT-What round should I test next

Assuming I can be in place to add something new to the collection relatively soon, what would you guys be interested in seeing put to some terminal performance tests? I'd like to avoid modern military rounds (.223, ,308. 9mm etc), only because there are already volumes written on them.

Any ideas to keep it interesting?

Since I like it and most people don't, I'd be curious to see the wound channel and penetration of a .243 Win with good bullets.

How about the 6.5x55 Swed? 8mm Mauser or 7mm Mauser?

Since this is a Leverguns forum, and since you are asking levergunners....something out of a levergun would be nice...though many of us do drift towards 1911's also. I'd like to see the 10mm out of a 1911. But back to levers...how about the old 25-20, or 32-20. Perhaps the 25-35 or 7-30Waters. Even the old .33 Winchester would be nice, as there is a slew of those about.

I have a feeling that we'll be getting some information from KirkD about the 32-20 very shortly though.

An article about the performance of the .358 Winchester would be interesting.
It would also give you a good reason to buy a Browning lever action.

I certainly wouldn't mind doing a study on some of the lighter and more classic levergun rounds, but a lot of them are hard to come by for a reasonable price. I'm kicking myself for passing up a marlin in .25-20 a few years ago for under $500

That would be cool. Or even the .32 H&R or .32 Fed Mag - all are pretty similar in potential with the right gun.

Were the 357 mag hardcast 180s heat treated? They look like air cooled WW.

I'd like to see 32-20 in both fast and slow velocities.

I'm not sure. Old Ironsights generously donated them to me.

Looks like I have to save up for a 32-20

Test the 44 mag out of a rifle. I'd like to see how it matches up with the 30-30 and 35 rem.
