No, assuming it's chambered in 44 magnum. If its chambered in 45 Colt, you can only shoot 45 Colt in it.

The 44 Special cartridge is a slightly shorter and lower pressure ("lighter") cartridge than a 44 Magnum. They do, however, shoot the same bullets. You can shoot 44 Special cartridges in guns chambered for 44 Magnum.

Agreed. However, I found that it's easier to just down-load .44mag cases to .44 special levels. That way, you avoid any issues with residue build-up from shooting the shorter cartridge, which can present feeding problems when you go back to the mag length unless you thoroughly clean in between.

Yes. .44 Spl and .44Mag can be used in the Rossi .44Mag. Just like 38Spl and .357Mag can be used in the Rossi .357Mag.

And 45 Colt chambered guns can usually cycle and shoot 45 S&W (or Schofield) rounds too. ;)

You just need to remember to clean the chamber thoroughly after shooting the shorter rounds to remove the fouling before shooting the longer rounds.

Some .357 guns don't feed .38 specials too well, so the shorter .44 special rounds MIGHT not feed as well (or could feed better). I've hardly shot any .44 specials in mine, so can't speak from experience one way or the other.
