A Re-Introduction!

Post by Yankee John »

I'm back on this new board- I was on the old board and owned a sweet 1936-dated Winchester 1894. I traded that rifle to a buddy (which I dearly regret each & every day!).

Well, I was at the gunshop yesterday and this one followed me home: A well-worn post 64 in caliber 32 Winchester Special. I have never owned a rifle in this caliber and it intrigued me- The price was right too. It has the typical wear and rust speckling on the receiver, but is in otherwise good condition- plus the bore is excellent. It has that "been there, done that" look.

It came with sling mounts, so I threw on some swivels and an ancient Boyt sling that I had laying around.

Glad to be back- It's hard to be away from these lever guns!

Nice rifle see them every now and then around here, what part of state did you find it? Have you ever hit the shop in Isle on the SE corner of Mille Lacs Lake.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I forgot to add: It is a very late 1964-made rifle. The serial starts with 2784xxx. I was born in late December of 1964- So this Model 94 is almost exactly my age too!

Neat. I think I was asking about .32 WS prices when I first came to the board. Glad to have you back.

Welcome back to the fire, your place has been well cared for. Nice rifle and thanks for the pics. Just hang it over on the rack with the rest of ours and enjoy the conversation. Hope that beauty brings in the venison for you.

Actually- That's the shop I bought this old girl at! "Hunter's Den" is the name, phone# is (507)354-4867.

Some good deals there, But not on everything. I almost brought a used, but mint Henry Big Boy in .38Spl/.357Mag home with me too. They have a very nice price on it- I'll probably grab that one next paycheck...
