Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Good grief Jim!!! I was at Kamiseya, Japan during part of your 1967 - 1969 time-frame and was over at Camp Zama quite a few times. Can't remember exactly but Camp Zama was just down the road from Kamiseya -- within 15 to 20 miles I think.JimT wrote:US Army

Re: Okay Vets....Fall in and roger up!
My son, SSgt Wm. H. Newman, USA, has about 2 1/2 months left on his second Iraq tour.
I served in the U.S.M.C. from 6/64 - 3/68, retired on disability as a Sgt.
Vietnam service w/ E battery, 12 Marines 7/65 - 3/67.
Brother served in the USN on the USS Remey, DD 688, 1957 - ‘59
Four uncles in WW II. MY god father, WIA in Holland or Belgium, landed in the gliders @ Normandy; another marched through the snow as a BAR man for the relief of Bastonge & later WIA.
And I can honestly say that my late mother-in-law wore combat boots. She was a Woman Martine in WW II. My late father-in-law, a crew chief on a Martin Marauder -- “Little Jim“ -- awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses and flew 65 or 70 + mission over France.
One uncle in WW I -- pioneer (AKA engineer) regiment.
Four family members in the Union Army during the Civil War -- all infantry. My great grandfather, Wm. H. Newman enlisted as a private in the 70th NY Inf. in 6/1861, mustered out as Captain in the 86th NY Inf., in 5/1865. He was wounded twice and awarded the Medal of Honor.
One served with Perry at Lake Erie during the War of 1812.
And supposedly the first Newman in this country (the colonies at that time) was either a regular in the British Army or a Hessian during the Revolutionary War.

The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....
