My New 1895
So far she's very accurate.

A true Classic. Tons of fun (and tons of muzzle energy...

Nice rifle! And despite all the trash talking about scopes that goes on around here
, the Marlin 1895 looks very good in a scope. Marlins always do.

Outstanding! Good choice! And I don't see any muffler holes - I don't personally like the brakes...

Agreed,... both of mine have them. But there is always room for a little levity in life.

Re: My New 1895
Sweet, I picked one up last spring and am very impressed with it. I finally tried some .457 roundball loads Sunday with 9gr of 7625. three shots went right to the point of aim at 30yd's inside of 2",without touching the sights. I am going to shoot some thru the chrony tomorrow.big fun.

You bet. I've certainly added my share of good old trash talking (all in good humour) re. scopes on leverguns. For some reason, I don't like scopes at all on the Winchesters, but I like them on the Marlins. Don't know why.76/444 wrote:Agreed,... both of mine have them. I must be weird,... but, I didn't take the "carry handle" remark as trash talking, but just as a rather witty sense of humor. Oh well,... what do I know anyway!

p.s. I agree Winnies don't look good with scopes.
Re: My New 1895
I didn't think my winnie looked to bad scoped,,,,,

That is a smart looking Marlin

I have several of the Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32s and I really like them.

Re: My New 1895
I used to own a Marlin 1895 Cowboy model, but it never quite lit my fire so I sold it. I recently held a used 1895 at the local toy shop and it really felt nice....just like my 336. I might have to consider placing it on my short list.
Some people just need a sympathetic pat on the head.....with a hammer. Repeatedly.
Re: My New 1895
I'm with 76/444, it's ok to scope a Marlin, but a scope on a Winnie is just not right somehow.

Even down to the shoulder strap, that thing looks EXACTLY like my 1895 setup. Awesome!
