What were your first and second Levers??
OK, it's too rainy, cold, and quiet to work outside, so.........
My first Lever was a Daisy!! It's long gone somewhere in the past, and I don't remember the model. A tube of BB's was about two bits at the grocery store register back then.
My first "real" rifle was a Wards Westernfield Lever in .22 S, L,and LR. I did scope it, and it helped clean out the pesky crop and grain eating rabbits and squirrels. I think we had some crows causing trouble back then too.....
Anyone else??

My very 1st lever I inherited from my Grandfather in 1983, and its a beauty. A Winchester model 64 carbine with the 20" barrel in 32 special. My 2nd lever came to me just after I met all you guys here on Leverguns.com. I needed a companion for that model 64 so I bought a model 64A in 30-30, and I love it!

1st: 1969 Winchester 94 carbine, .44 Magnum; purchased thru the Ship's Store for the balance of $30 left on some STUPID squid's layaway! Hope it wasn't any of ya'll!
2nd: 1972 Winchester 64A rifle, .30-30; won w/$5 raffle ticket for Ship's Party Fund! Do you realize how hard it was to get .30-30 ammo in VN!

I was late to lever rifles, except of course for the household Daisy Red Ryder, as a kid. In the Spring of 1997, at age 35, I picked up a '94 Winchester .30-30 Trapper, new-in-box, pre-safety, and a .308 Browning Lightning BLR. I cannot remember for sure which was first, but I think it was the '94. I shot the BLR a bit in the early days, but left the Trapper unfired, as its action was rough, and soon I had access to another '94, of much older vintage, which became the household utility lever. I traded off the '94 Trapper somewhere along the way, but still have the BLR, and it will be about the last rifle I will part with; if I stay able-bodied until my passing, it will never leave my possession, except perhaps to give to a family member or very dear friend.

First is a Savage - Stevens Favorite .22 my Dad bought me when I was 5.
Second is a Win. 95 SRC I bought when I was in college. Had several other guns as a kid but spent most of my time shooting my Dad's stuff including a couple Win. 94s.

Except for the traditional Daisy bb gun, mine was an Ithaca Mod. 49 single shot(martini action operated by lever). Second was a Mod. 94 Win. in 30/30 when I was 11 or 12...given to me by my Dad. I gave it to my brother upon entering the Army when I was 17, and it went back to my Dad eventually. Like to get it back someday!

The first levergun that I personally purchased was this one:

A Glenfield Model 30A, .30-30 that I purchased at Treasure Island(the WalMart of the day) in 1968 for $69.00(incl tax) including a 3 X 9 scope (can't remember what brand), mounting rings, shoulder strap (still on it), two boxes of 170 grain Silver-Tips, and a leather case on October 13th of 1968. Walked down a two lane highway with it slung over my shoulder to hunt at the Nike base a piece down the road. County mountie saw me and stopped to ask what's up, told him of the special hunt at the Nike site. He told me to jump in, he was head'n right past it. Gun was loaded and out of the case by the time I got to the gate. The deputy told me to have a good hunt!
First one I used was my gramp's '92 chambered in .44WCF back in 1964. Still have that one too, but the receiver is cracked at locking bolt. That one was purchased by my great granddad back in '96....1896.

My first lever, a Winchester Model 71, I inherited from Grandpa. You old timers here will recognize it, and it brought me to this site last year:

My second lever, also a Model 71, was made by Browning:

Well, I guess my FIRST lever was a Daisy, I don't remember the model but I do remember it had a nice set of target-type sights on it! my second was the Marlin 1894 44 Mag that I had wanted since forever and finally bought a few years ago. Since then, it has been a long steady walk down the road into the depths of Lever-gun depravity..................sigh.....but somebody's gotta' do it!

First was an 1895 Marlin, and the second was a BL-22 Browning. That was in the mid-1970s.

My first was a Win low wall in 32-20 I traded a bolt action 20ga. for it in about 1959 (wish I still had it, sold when we moved west, my dad said it was not legal for deer out west)
My second was a Marlin 336A .30-30 my dad bought me to replace the low wall in 1961.
I killed 6 does with it the first year. We party hunted for meat in those days.

My first lever was a 1894 Winchester SRC in .25-35. Then I traded it for my first Marlin, a model 1893 takedown in .25-36, with 26" full octagon and full mag. Still have the Marlin!

first lever
My first lever was a long tang model 71, serial No. 40XX, an early bird, that was 1962. My latest was a new Marlin 308MX. If they start making a good and decent 94 again, who knows what's next?

1st Daisy BB Gun (Hathorn) Probably around 1964
2nd Winchester Model 94 30/30, I traded a wrecked Honda motorcycle
for it, when I was 13. I later on traded it off for a side by side
shotgun
3rd Marlin 1895 45/70, purchased from Woolsworth when I was 16, I
traded it off for a Remington 700 in 30-06 after a year or two,
because I hunted deer in more open country, and got tired of
putting up with the range limitations of the factory 405 gr loads. I
later swapped out the 30-06 barreled action and put a .270 barreled
action in my original 700 BDL stock. I used this gun a lot for many
many years, but it didn't keep me from experimenting with other
leveractions.
4th Marlin 336 30/30 purchased used when I was 21yrs old. I put an old
Readfield receiver sight on it, and kept it for over 20 yrs.
5th Savage 99C in .308 Win purchased used When I was probably
22yrs old (it was a lemmon and I didn't keep it long) I think
I traded it off for a 760 Gamemaster pump in .270 the same year.
I didn't like the crossbolt safety of the pump, or the heavyness, and
I didn't keep it but a year or two.
6th Marlin 39M used at a gunshow. I only gave a $110.00 for it out the
door, no tax or anything.
7th Marlin 444, I should have kept this one, but I always kept going back
to the old Remington 700 in .270 Win.
Sometime later I finally ended up with a Browning BLR in .308 Win and that was the gun, that finally unseated the Remington 270 as my most used gun. And even though I have purchased many leveractions and other centerfire rifles since, I know now, that the BLR will definately be my favorite and most used centerfire of all time, and one that will never get traded off, because it works too good, no matter what the siduation is.
And that my friends, is some of the eairly history of my slow but steady decent into the bottomless black hole of gun buying and trading.
