"Front Shoulders..."
I see this pop up from time to time in various posts.
The ONLY shoulders a 4-legged critter has are in FRONT, guys...
I've never read of anyone shooting (or aiming at -- ) a REAR shoulder, or a MIDDLE one either, for that matter. TOP and/or BOTTOM shoulders also never appear in print (nor in anatomy books...)
How this "folksy" terminology entered our fair language is a matter for others to determine, but I suspect it has some root in the (unfortunately-not) uniquely-American tendency toward repetitive redundancy.
So -- give my poor brain a break -- OK...?

I have to admit I let a lot of such things go on by because I dealt with English as a second language speakers for so long. Sometimes it is hard to avoid laughing out loud.

Well, we do PARK in a drive way and DRIVE on the parkway....
Ok from now on it is just shoulders, no front, middle or rear description needed.

Forget the "front shoulders", I kinda like the "Texas heart shot".

Re: "Front Shoulders..."
The Texas heartshot is more than likely related to the Portuguese head shot.....

Hmmmmmm, My shoulders are connected to my ARMS not my legs. Maybe what defines shoulders is being connected to the NECK and HEAD!

I have a water heater. If the water was already hot it wouldn't need heating. I also wonder if gunsmiths deposit safeties in safety deposit boxes.Les Staley wrote:Okay, how many of you english majors have a hot water heater in your basement?? huh???? Les

Re: "Front Shoulders..."
John Taffin had a good one the other day. People declaring the front sight is a partridge sight. I guess they would need a grouse sight or a pheasant sight too.
