Gentleman, Thank you one and all. Today I sent funds to Joe which assure that the hunt, processing and mount is covered for Lil' Huntress. This was an incredible out pouring of generosity and shows the value we place on the next generation of hunters in this country. I was honored to help be the point of "distant" contact for this. Your notes and generosity were uplifting and a blessing to me as well. I am sure Lindsey will have a great hunt at the hands of 86er, a once in a lifetime opportunity for sure. In addition, this also pays respect and shows our gratitude for the sacrifice that Her dad, and the entire family have made so that freedom lives in this country and abroad. Sandy (Huntress), while going to school, has to maintain the family in periods of his absense and models the sacrifice with a truly positive spirit. I was honored to meet Sandy, Lindsey and her sister last year and I can tell you they are an amazing family. Blessing to you all. Like you, I await the story of the hunt LOTS of pictures!!!

No Scimitar today. They stalked, stood, walked, drove - burned a whole tank of diesel. Saw them 2 times. I told Rich to offer her anything on the ranch. To Lindsay's credit, she said she would continue to hunt the Scimitar the right way or go home empty handed. Good example for the nay-sayers regarding the fence. This animal was born and raised inside 1000 acres 7 years ago. He's a little smarter than we are about where to be and when. Let's pray they can get it done tomorrow. May the Master of the Hunt see fit to have Lindsay take the Scimitar she wants so badly.

Report from the front lines: I am not there since she wanted to hunt on her own. I heard that she has taken two long shots that didn't produce anything. The Scimitar are very elusive and spooky. They have been on the ranch for 7 years, so they know what's up. Ask Bosco, Piller or Ricky how hard it is to even get a shot at one. That's hunting.
However, she called to ask if she could shoot a fallow deer. She said she figured them out and was confident she could sneak up on one, since she saw dozens of them in the last 3 days. I conferred with Richard and from a business prospective this is a losing proposition. A fallow costs between $700-$800 to keep for 2 years or to buy a 3 year old from a breeder. On the other hand, her determination and attitude command the respect of kids and adults alike. From a personal prospective, Richard and I cannot resist the request in spite of what it may cost us personally. The kid deserves it. Her friends and family will hunt with us in the future, so from the business sense there is a return on our investment. Oh - Hell, Lindsay, shoot whatever you want! Don't be surprised is there is a dead fallow deer on her ticket very soon!

Joe,(and Richard) You guys are good people letting Lindsay take what she wants.Boy, I bet she is having a blast. And to have to hunt so long and so hard!Thats what its all about. She will never forget this.Because of working so hard to get her trophy she will smile for many years to come everytime she thinks of it/you guys etc.Because of your generousity the "angles of the Hunt" will be smiling down on your Ranch! Prayers that she does the deed!
Very Well Done, and its going to happen!
