OT - Holster identification and possible maker

Post by deerwhacker444 »

Gents

I'd like to find a holster/belt rig like the one shown below. I don't know what this style is called other than western shoulder rig.

Image

This photo was lifted from the Sportsmans Guide website. I've got a 4 5/8 Blackhawk that I'd like to carry this way. It would be under my winter jacket which would help for concealment. Also it would be off my hip when I'm riding my ATV around so it wouldn't get scratched up.

Any idea of what this style of rig is called and who might make one? I'd like a little better quality than SG will carry, but I don't need any frills, just plain jane quality.

Check here as his combination holster is awfully close to what you're looking for.

I like the looks of that one, I'll have to check them out.

Not that SG doesn't have good stuff, but if I'm going to buy leather goods to last for a long time, I'd like them to be made in the U.S.A. by hand and not mass produced somewhere in Indonesia. Plus I get a warm fuzzy thinking about helping keep the $ here. That's all I meant.

I can make one, but I prefer to have the customer there for fitting on something like this so it hangs correctly. Gimme an idea of your height, weight, and build.
