Sorry guys... you can't make this stuff up...

Yep, Chief - couldn't have been said better. She obviously didn't have the same kind of DI that I had.45-70- wrote:Pockets serve no purpose on military uniform pants. You dont use them or your not supposed to anyways. If your hands are cold, put gloves on, that is if its winter time. The military likes uniformity, everyone looking the same. For an official photo, the position is attention, which means hands in a fist hanging straight down, palms inward, thumbs along your seam line. It looks very sloppy to have your hands in your pants, and thats a senior officer. They are supposed to set the example. Hope this helps explain somewhat.

There have probably been a gagillion push ups done in basic training for recruits with their hands in their pockets or their heads uncovered outside. Very frowned upon in garrison and mostly in the field. When your downrange and it is 20 below though, rules can be bent a bit. Overall, it's frowned upon and thought of as a habit of "dirty nasty civilians".deerwhacker444 wrote:Please explain......I have no military background. Respectfully...
Yes, we all bleed red for the red, white, and blue. That's why I never seriously gave much consideration to interservice rivalries, except for minimal humor value.Warhawk wrote:Lance Sijan, Capt USAF
