OT- Concealed Carry Recommendations

Post by 2ndovc »

We've had an interesting turn of events at work recently....

Our Boss has decided to lift the ban on concealed carry. FINALLY!

We are an insurance restoration company in the Cleveland area and have won the bid for the City to board up and secure homes that have been damaged by fire, flood, etc. (this is to be directed by the PD, FD and building Dept) This includes some VERY bad neighborhoods!

What I need is a holster for my Glock 26 that will fit my 6'2" 270# frame comfortably. I'm in and out of a Ranger pickup all day long. I'm thinking a paddle holster or IWB but the ones I've tried just don't work.

Any suggestions?

I've been carrying my XDs in this one for a month or two and like it better than the supertuck I was using. This one works for me. Works in a wellington boot also. I got the fit for the .45 and the shorter 9 slips right in.

I like the supertuck deluxe. I remove the weapon from the holster in the vehicle for comfort and access. No one has ever noticed me re-arming.
Kind regards,

Hi All,

I've carried my Colt 1911 in an inside-the-waist-band holster (leather) for years; in and out of a vehicle without difficulty.

I have found the ClipDraw device the best way to carry my Glock-17 and Glock-21SF. I find the ClipDraw is great for carrying the 1911's as well. Low price as well. On the Glocks you need their trigger plug as well. No bulk or movement with a good trouser belt, carrys high and tight against your side. Check their website. http://www.clipdraw.com I don't know if the 26 would work, The clip draw is a bit long. Easy to draw when you don't want to wear it. I like them....Good Luck.

Don't rule out a shoulder holster. I like the Fobus paddle holsters though.

Paddles tend to be a compromise and don't conceal well.

If you can pull off an IWB, a Comp-Tac C-Tac, Infidel or one of their other models would be well worth looking into. I concealed a Glock 30 for five years comfortably, up to and above 24 hours a day in multiple occasions with these, dressed appropriately.

The smaller Glocks are even easier to hide.

Try Simply Rugged holsters http://www.simplyrugged.com/

I have one for my 3" SP101 and it's very concealable and comfortable. I would think a Glock would be even more so than an SP101.

+1 on the Kel-Tec. They are small, light, and I have never had one fail, jam, or anything else other than work correctly each and every time.
