What trail camera would you use to suppliment...

Post by rjohns94 »

your levergun scouting. (had to get that in there to keep it on topic  )

What benefits or disadvantages do your cameras have? I'm thinking digital with a chip. I know some can down load in the field or even preview in the field. Going to be getting one and putting it up soon so I need some solid advice. Thanks

I use a Moultrie I-40 that is the one with the Infared flash. So its a little more discreet. Than a reg flash model. No deer pics to show but I used to have pics of the best fed Blue Jays in Ontario.

Well, this is just my opinioin.

I like Cuddeback. I've got 3 of the No Flash cameras and they've worked well. Battery life is good and picture quality is very good. Haven't owned either of the 2 newer Cuddeback models, so I can't speak for them. Only thing I don't like about Cuddeback is the case design isn't the greatest.

This is the only sample pic I have with me from my Cuddeback, an old doe taken last year at a watering hole.

Stealth cams also seem to be pretty good. IMO, the Stealth cases are better than the Cuddebacks, but trigger speed is a little slower. Picture quality is okay. Battery life is good. Good deal for the money.

Stay away from the cheap Bushnell cams. I swore off Bushnell cameras after having lots of problems with the (3) 3MP cameras I bought, but I just bought one of their new 5.0MP Trophy models just to see if they've gotten better. The Bushnells I had ATE batteries. If this new one is a turd, I'll never buy another Bushnell product.

This is a good website for camera reviews..! They do very in depth tests.!

Cuddeback has a photo gallery that is a good representation of what to expect from their cameras.

RIHMFIRE is getting some good bear pics with his camera and CnJarvis has a Moultrie cam, maybe they'll chime in.

Good luck with your research.
