Do anybody of You guys know, if the current line of Winchester or Uberti Hi-Walls 1885 can take the pressure of modern 45-70 loadings, or is it black-powder pressure only?

Welcome to the forum. And, that does sound a little cowboyish. Kinda like redrock or deadmans bluff.

That is good to know Terry, but you know derned good and well that this smokeless powder stuff is just a passing fad!

Nothing is better than burning 65grains of FFg and slinging a 405 or 510 grain bullet waaaay down range

Thank You Guys.

Actually I have been here before a couple of years ago as haterock without 2, but I could not log in, so I had to register again. As for hunting it is pretty much the same as UK. Fox, roe-deer, doe-deer, red-deer and a lot of different game-birds. Many danish hunter are hunting in Germany, Poland, Scotland and especially Sweden for wild boar and moose. Sometimes You can even come across a wolf or a bear'

Just thinking...

A .45-70 would be a really GOOD gun for somone who did "hate rocks" - :?

We used to go to an old quarry and shoot rocks all the time as a kid...a .45-70 is a slow, but fun, way to make 'gravel' out of big rocks.

(yeah, I know we were lucky we weren't killed by ricochets...and all the other hazards of youth in the latter third of the 20th century... )
