Cross bolt safety on 1895 marlin cowboy
Howdy y'all, I was wondering if the replacement "screws" offered out there will work on the Marlin 1895 cowboy 45/70? Anyone done this, results please. Thanks

If you're talking about replacing the crossbolt safety with one of these:

Yes, they work and I think they look nice.

Thanks Deerwacker Thats the one I was looking at , but was told it wouldent work on an 1895. I tried to contact Mr Taylor but havent been able to talk to him as of yet. I would def prefer to talk to someone that had one on that perticluar rifle. I lovee mine but it looks to new LOL.

Perhaps a quick phone call to Clyde Lugwig would answer your question.redbeardinntx wrote:Thanks Deerwacker Thats the one I was looking at , but was told it wouldent work on an 1895. Well that is the post that brought me to leverguns. It was recomendrd to me by on of the gun shop guys a few months ago. I said Mr Taylor because I mistakenly read him to be the author as well as the pervayor. And I just realized that his area code is 414 . I kept entering it as (214) one of the area codes here in Dallas. Geeezzzzz Im gonna try him again . Thanks to all .
