Need to get tang sites for some of my Levers
Do you guys find them a problem by having them on the tang ie: are they in the way of your hand for shooting, holding etc. Or is it just one of those little things that the benefits of shooting with a tang site far out weigh the small inconviences.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

But... it's highly subjective and influenced by both habit and inclination as grip and adaptability.
I don't grip this rifle around the wrist of the stock, I just lay my thumb along the tang sight.

We put a Marbles Tang site on my son's '92 Rossi and IMNHO is was a pain. the once handy quick handling carbine now took deliberate care to work with it. PERSONALLY I do much better with a receiver site. Your millage may vary.
It's a very personal thing. I would advise you shooting someone else's rifle that has a tang sight before you make up your mind. If I was shooting a .45-70 and taking long deliberate shots it wouldn't be a problem.
MY big meat hooks and the little Rossi might have been part of it as well.

Tang Sights...
Get some more feedback before you make a final decision, as if you ask 10 shooters, you'll get 8 different ideas...
Here's my feedback, with pictures of a tang sight on a Marlin Cowboy...

I've always had tang sights, and it just comes natural to not wrap my thumb over the tang, so I never had a problem with them.
