A Wyoming Sunday morning. Completely OT

Post by jnyork »

Wyomings Sweetwater River has its headwaters in the high peaks of the Wind River mountains, eventually flowing through several miles of pleasant meadows and rolling sagebrush-covered hills before plunging into a steep, rocky, sometimes inaccessable canyon. Being one of our favorite fishing spots, my Lovely Bride and I went out there Sunday morning for a couple of hours to try our luck. The river is pretty low now, the runoff is almost over and some moss starting to form in the slow moving sections. LB got skunked, for which she was not overly pleased, but I did OK with these rainbows. Each of these fish will make a supper for the two of us. Also included, a couple shots of the river. I guess someone has to do it. :D

Dang...

Don't let the developallovers see those pics. The place will be crawling with "Ranchettes."

Thanks God the water already belongs to someone -- hopefully downstream...

We used to hunt elk up in the gap- usually around Mill creek and Wildcat butte. Haven't been up there in years. Need to take a drive up that way and see that country again. We enjoy the country around the Big Sandy ranch too.

Thanks for the pictures.. my son and I drew early muzzleloading antelope in that area a few years ago.. did you do any gold panning? I have a couple of days off, and went up into the winds here at Pinedale, and caught sixteen brookies out of a small creek here.. had 'em for supper tonight... don't get much better...Les
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!
