that's something alright.

OI, you might be the guy to ask, is there a site for getting answers to baseball statistic questions?

for example, what is the game with the fewest total pitches.. what is the shortest game... what is the longest game... what is the largest come-from-behind win... what is the highest scoring game... ?

etc. there are unlimited questions that pop up when I'm watching games, where are the answers?

Nope, sorry, not me. I'm not into sports at all (unless they involve firearms). I just got wind of it in a "breaking news" update from the Chicago Trib and thought I's pas it along to others who might be into that sort of thing...

Throwing a baseball past 27 men who are all capable of hitting it safely is always a feat worthy of mention. It seems in baseball, you can fool all the people all the time, if your stuff is good enough.

Keep in mind the pitcher is the tlaent that threw the ball but the brains is the catcher who calls the game (i.e. tells the pitcher which pitch to throw and where to locate it) and positions the infielders & outfielders based on how he is going to pitch the batter.

Everyone will remember the pitcher but no one will give the catcher credit for keeping the opposing hitters off balance.

Yup, I always said the catcher has the toughest job in the game...

Thanks for the link Hobie.

More links welcome if there are any fans here who have some...

And the catcher in that perfect game was Ramon Castro--traded to the Sox from the Mets a couple of months ago. :o Too bad that he couldn't do that when he was with the Mets. :(

I wore the "tools of ignorance" for several varsity seasons... and in a few adult leauge games over the years.

I called dozens of perfect games for my pitchers... but they don't always hit the spot. Those danged hitters seem to "adjust" to about the third at bat too.
