I didn't read any farewells, but we've all let him have it recently for being an unrepentant liberal  , so maybe he's taking a little time off. I hope he doesn't stay away too long, he's a pretty knowledgeable guy.

If he's away for awhile, it ain't because of being in a conservative fish bowl  Now...he could be in mourning due to "His Girl" finished third :P :P

Blaine, that was the best news I have heard in a long time. The wife and I were both jumping for joy. Lets hope it goes from third to fourth to last.

There was a few threads posted on this and the old forum that were in my way of thinking direct personal insults aimed at Junior. They were totally uncalled for and beneath the posters in my opinion.

I've known Junior for several years on this forum and although I almost totally disagree with his political views, I respect him as a person. If these posts are the reason he's gone, then we've lost a very good member of this forum.

I'm sure we'll find out eventually.

I like Junior. I like Junior's political talk. I hate it when any thread turns into personal insults, and it's not Junior that does that.

If we can't talk these things out how is anybody ever supposed to persuade anybody to change their views? He's willing to talk, I wish more folks were that open.

I'm not going to assume anything but yes, there were some hot comments made, and I hope he hasn't taken it personally. We'd miss him here. More than I can say for myself.

Except for the issue of guns, I'm pretty sure my views and Junior's are diametrically opposed. That said, he's nothing but a class act.

If he were to need some time away from the forum, he wouldn't need to put forth any announcement or "farewell" in order to do so.

I just hope he's in good health.

I have to say that Junior is like a lot of other people I've known. He believes one thing and votes for another because above all else he believes the "other guy" is Satan's lap dog. I don't know how else to view it. While we agree on just about everything he calls himself a liberal and insists that Democrat politicians are good folks. I just can't see that. I think it is Junior "channeling" Huey Long!

Junior is good people. I consider myself a liberal conservative and firmly believe the major problem facing this country today is the diametric positions the two major political parties often take have lead to this "US vs. THEM" attitude among the politicians that we have to select from and in many cases cases those of us that often fuel those anomositites. Unfortunately for the vast majority of Americans, I feel that political candidates are forced to adopt that attitude to attract the support of folks that have a particular issue as their "hot button." To my way of thinking, that is detrimental to our society.

I have several views that would likely prove unpopular among the fellowship here and other gun related forums I hang out at. I usually avoid threads of that type and timbre. Not out of any sense of fear, for I am more that willing to put forth my views on subjects, however, I feel they are counter-productive in their extremism. (Not my views, but rather, the vitrolic rhetoric in such threads).

I respect Junior. More so, because he doesn't shrink from stating what I'm sure he knows is an unpopular opinion amongst some of us folks.

I, too, hope and pray that Junior is in good health and just off in the woods pursuing his passion for hunting. He usually has some good thoughts AND PICS to share with us when he returns. 8)

Heh.

Griff - only problem with the "us vs them" attitude is that people have forgotten/been indoctrinated to forget that the only legitimate Us vs Them there is is Everybody vs the Government...

'Round these parts, gun toting liberal is an oxymoron. Junior, on the other hand, has personal beliefs that can't be swayed, and I appreciate that. Besides, he lives in my aunt and cousin's neighborhood in Looziana.

Gag you? No, just point out that your comments have nothing to do with this thread. We're discussing the apparent absence of someone we respect. You're babbling about liberal agendas.

Sir I beg you not to question the loyal Americans on this forum.

A good many of us here are serving, have served, or have family who served/serving. Junior the man in ? served his time and is fully entitled to any and all views he wishes to state here. If you dont have anything usefull to say about the current topic I suggest you remain silent.

Greg,

You started the tune you might have to hear us play it out. LOTS of military retirees here. Every one has great respect for Junior. He's a fine fellow indeed. I think you missed the point. Some were afraid he might have left due to the "intensity" of the conversations herein (which, if personal attacks will get deleted, I assure you) because he claims (my thoughts) to be a liberal. We are not discussing the pros or cons of liberal thought.

Come to think of it I'm just going to lock the topic. I posted Junior's e-mail addy. If you've something nice to say to him, write to him.
Sincerely,

Hobie
